Powering on the SmartSense probe
Hold the power button for one to two seconds. The green light will flash to indicate the Probe has powered on. Once powered on, the SmartSense Probe display will show a temperature reading.
SmartSense probe LED effects

Steady Green LED: this indicates that the active probe temperature is WITHIN the temperature task compliance range.
Steady Red LED: this indicates that the active probe temperature is OUTSIDE of the temperature task compliance range.
Blinking Green LED: Powering your probe will cause the green LED to flash momentarily.
Short Blue LED: Indicates that batteries have been successfully replaced.
Replacing batteries in the SmartSense probe
Commencez cette procédure sur un comptoir ou une table afin de ne pas perdre de morceaux de la sonde.
Insérez une pièce de 25 cents ou un objet similaire dans la rainure située sous la sonde LCD.

The internal spring will force the cover to open. Set the cover aside, then remove and discard the batteries.
Insérez 2 nouvelles piles AA de haute qualité, l'extrémité positive étant orientée vers la sonde.

Recycle batteries at designated collection points. These can include electronics retailers, household hazardous waste collection facilities, or specialized battery recyclers.
Be aware of the risk of terminals of the battery-operated appliance or battery being short-circuited by metal objects. Prevent fire hazards by taping battery terminals (the positive and negative ends) with non-conductive tape (like electrical tape). You can also place each battery in a separate plastic bag.
Do not puncture, crush, or disassemble batteries.
Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and flammable materials.
If a battery is damaged, swollen, leaking, or emitting odors, contact a battery recycling facility immediately and dispose of it according to local regulations
Do not expose the appliance or battery to excessive temperatures
This appliance contains non-rechargeable batteries; these batteries are not to be recharged.
Do not mix different types of batteries or new and used batteries. Always use alkaline batteries.
Remove batteries if the appliance is to be stored unused for a long period.
